Know the exam
TEF Canada evaluates your ability to understand and communicate in French through listening, reading, writing and speaking. Preparation should therefore combine language development with familiarity with the task format.
Build a weekly routine
Divide practice across the four skills. Use timed writing and speaking sessions, review practical vocabulary, and include listening every week. Consistency is more useful than occasional long study sessions.
Practise actively
After each activity, identify one specific improvement for the next attempt. In writing, this could be stronger connectors. In speaking, it could be clearer examples. In listening, it could be faster keyword recognition.
Use realistic conditions
Complete full timed simulations only after developing the underlying skills. During a simulation, follow official timing and avoid tools that would not be available in the examination.
Track preparation, not promises
Practice statistics can show consistency, but they are not official score predictions. Use progress indicators to guide study while relying on official sources for current examination rules.
